BOF
BOF is an equipment used for steelmaking, mainly for smelting and refining pig iron, scrap steel and other alloy materials to produce steel that meets the requirements.
BOF steelmaking progress is an efficient method by blowing oxidizing gas (usually high-pressure oxygen with a purity greater than 99%) into the molten iron in a rotating furnace to oxidize impurities and refine it into molten steel.
The damage of refractories used in BOF varies in different parts, and the temperature fluctuations in tuyere areas are not only large but also frequent. Therefore, refractories are required to not only resist melting and erosion, but also have good resistance to thermal striping and structural striping. Based on the temperature field simulation of melt and furnace lining and the research on the properties and damage of magnesia chromium refractories, we determine the material selection principles as follows: high refractoriness under load, large bulk density, low porosity, good thermal stability, good slag erosion resistance, etc.
