The tundish flow stabilizer is a functional refractory material installed at the bottom of the tundish impact zone to stabilize the flow of molten steel in the tundish water inlet area, prevent slag from being drawn into the molten steel to cause internal quality defects of the continuous casting billet, promote the floating of inclusions, and reduce the splashing of molten steel.
Structural design principles of tundish flow stabilizer:
The shape of the tundish flow stabilizer is generally square, rectangular, or round. Mainly depends on the shape of the impact zone, but the bottom thickness of the tundish flow stabilizer should be determined according to the service life of the tundish, the height of the liquid level of the tundish, the number of continuous casting furnaces and the distance from the bottom of the shroud to the bottom of the tundish. Generally, if the service life of the tundish is long, the height of the tundish page is low, and the number of continuous casting furnaces is large, the tundish flow stabilizer will be damaged quickly. The tundish flow stabilizer should be thicker, and vice versa.
