PRODUCTS IN DETAIL
In modern aluminum melt purification technology, filtration is the last purification process at the casting terminal. Prior to this, although 60%-80% of inclusions and gases have been removed through flux refining, settling, medium and non-medium adsorption in the furnace, more subtle inclusions are still dispersed in the melt (including secondary inclusions generated by the trough and the tundish).
In order to obtain high-performance aluminum products, these fine inclusions must be aggregated and separated by adsorption. Compared with other purification methods, filtration has become the preferred process for terminal purification of aluminum melts due to its low energy consumption, convenient operation, high impurity removal efficiency and less secondary pollution.
Ceramic foam filter (CFF) is currently the most widely used filter for filtration of aluminum melt. Its advantages are high porosity, high filtration efficiency, easy replacement, low cost, strong adaptability, can filter solid inclusions and separate some liquid inclusions.
Advantages:
1. Adopting the adsorption principle to filter, it can effectively remove large inclusions in the aluminum liquid and effectively adsorb small inclusions.
2. High strength, no slag, effectively reducing the pollution of aluminum liquid.
3. 3D grid shape, good transmittance and pore uniformity, superior to honeycomb foam ceramics.
4. High porosity, low filtration resistance, low normal static deviation.
Good flexural and compressive strength, high thermal shock resistance.
