PRODUCTS IN DETAIL
Function: Isolate Heat Storage Media
Application: Regenerative Combustion System
Baffle brick, also known as flame barrier brick or retaining block, is generally installed behind the burners of regenerative heating furnaces to support and fix ceramic heat storage media. It can also be matched with honeycomb bodies for all types of regenerative combustion systems. When used together, the baffle brick is placed at the foremost layer of the heat storage zone inside regenerative furnaces to protect heat storage media and extend their service life. Therefore, high temperature resistance and thermal shock resistance are the primary criteria for selecting baffle bricks.
The baffle bricks manufactured by our company feature excellent thermal stability, high softening point, strong resistance to chemical corrosion and outstanding thermal shock resistance. They ensure optimal performance and longer service life of heat storage media during operation, significantly reducing furnace shutdown time for steel plants and cutting overall production costs. Custom dimensions and structural designs are available based on customers’ drawings.
Besides conventional materials including mullite, corundum-mullite and fused corundum, our baffle bricks can also be made from chrome corundum mullite and zirconia corundum mullite. These special grades deliver superior slag resistance and thermal shock resistance, enabling stable service under harsh working conditions.
